Mid‑term Reflection
During the first half of this term, I have gradually developed a clearer understanding of my learning progress in the EAP course, especially through the process of building and updating my ePortfolio. Collecting artefacts, revising my writing drafts, and reflecting on feedback have helped me become more aware of both my strengths and the areas I still need to improve.
Progress in Academic Skills
My writing has shown noticeable improvement, particularly in organisation, coherence, and academic language. Through multiple drafting stages, I have learned how to structure paragraphs more effectively, use clearer topic sentences, and revise my work based on feedback. I have also become more attentive to grammar, spelling, and punctuation, which has helped me communicate ideas more accurately.
In addition, I have made progress in reading and vocabulary development. Recording new vocabulary and summarising key ideas from readings have supported my understanding of course materials and improved my ability to use more precise language in my writing.
Development of the ePortfolio
Development of the ePortfolio
Creating the ePortfolio has helped me reflect on my learning in a more structured way. I have tried to organise the pages clearly, using labels and sections that make navigation easier for readers. I have also included a variety of artefacts—such as writing drafts, feedback screenshots, class notes, and reflections—to show a more complete picture of my engagement with the course.
At the same time, I recognise that there is still room for improvement. Some explanations under my artefacts could be more detailed, and I could add more reflective comments rather than simply describing what the artefact is. I also want to continue improving the overall layout so that the portfolio looks more polished and professional.
Goals for the Remainder of the Term
In the next stage of the course, I hope to focus on several key goals:
• Expanding the variety of artefacts by including more reading notes and vocabulary records.
• Strengthening my proofreading skills to reduce grammar and spelling errors.
• Deepening my reflections by analysing what I learned from each task and how I can apply it in future work.
• Improving the visual organisation and navigation of the ePortfolio to make it more user‑friendly.
Overall, the mid‑term period has helped me understand my progress more clearly and identify specific steps for improvement. I aim to continue developing my academic skills and produce a more refined and comprehensive ePortfolio by the end of the term.
